MADELYN+KEEGAN
Here is the first wedding out of 16 to blog from 2022! Madelyn and Keegan’s beautiful Iowa wedding happened in between the towns of Le Mars and Sheldon in the great state of Iowa. Both of these locations truly showcase the beauty of having an Iowa wedding and, while you might not be able to feel it from the photos, some of the best light I have ever seen!
Before the wedding
Both the bride & groom got ready at the the bride’s house, which is located in a gated community in Le Mars next to a wonderful golf course. With it being a short commute from their ceremony location it made perfect sense for their getting ready photos!.
The ceremony
Their ceremony took place at Saint Josep church in Le Mars, Iowa. And let me tell you: this building is simply beautiful & elegant. It is one of the most recognizable and iconic wedding locations in Le Mars. I absolutely loved photographing their wedding here. Even with the light being a little harsh because of the time of the event, the church made the absolute perfect background for their wedding style.
Couple’s photos
After the ceremony, we got to my favorite part of the day – the couples portraits. We had planned the day out well giving us time to photograph both around the church as well as at Madelyn’s favorite Willow Tree. Her parents took photos at this tree on their wedding day and it was an absolute must for them taking photos by it too. Our planning worked perfectly as we got the best light you can get for these kind of pictures!
By the way: I love it when we my couples give me enough time to create amazing couples portraits during their wedding. There are so many distractions during the day that often we have to take those into consideration over photo opportunities. Having that extra 30 minutes or so with Madelyn and Keegan to go above and beyond was truly special.
The reception
Their reception was absolutely crazy! And Madelyn’s second wedding dress stole the show! As i’m writing this, I can totally relive their reception and see the packed dance floor. Hands down, one of the most fun weddings I have ever photographed.
