Jessica+Lee

Deadwood, South Dakota

A few weeks ago I received a called from my good friend Jennifer Savage. She had a couple from Texas looking for a photographer because they wanted to have an elopement in Deadwood, South Dakota. Apparently they saw pictures of Deadwood online and automatically fell in love. The venue was a very new one and the plan was too good to pass. So I jumped on the opportunity right away, packed my things and got into Jen’s car for a weekend full of adventure, pine trees and, of course, gorgeous pictures.

After 6 hours of driving, way too much coffee and a very pleasant conversation, we got to Muley Hill Lodge and I have to admit that my jaw dropped. The place was absolutely stunning! I have never seen anything like that. It was like being in the middle of Alaska without leaving South Dakota! It was definitely the perfect place for a Deadwood elopement!

The Couple

When I met Jessica and Lee, let me tell you, it was love at first sight! This wonderful couple and their entourage didn’t let the cold spring weather of the Black Hills bring their mood down. After a very romantic and emotive first look, we got to see them say I do with an entire family of deer running around the property.

So now, if you are looking for a secluded and romantic place for an intimate wedding, go check out this place before it gets more popular and books out. Because let me tell you: it is going to happen!
