URBAN ELOPEMENT UNDER THE RAIN
Friendly confession: I don’t enjoy the rain. As usual, the South Dakota weather likes to challenge me when it comes to important shoots, and this urban elopement under the rain was one of those. By now I should know that the more vendors involved in a shoot, the more it is going to rain that day.
With this, I am not going to let the bad weather bother me. If you know me, you know how bold I am, so when life gives you lemons I grab the sugar and get ready to make lemonade! Thankfully, all vendors in this shoot are just as hard headed as me. If it is raining, let’s go for it and get wet. VERY WET.
THE COUPLE
Definitely troopers. I like when people are game for anything and these guys were incredible. Jenna and Oba: Great job! Through these photos you can see them jump and run in puddles and don’t let the rain ruin their big day. On top of all, they made my job easy.
THE LOCATION
Downtown Sioux Falls is the perfect backdrop for any urban shoot but today was especially necessary. The city tends to get empty when it rains so, technically, it made my job easier. Additionally, as you can see, the light is just fantastic. You know, I have been a Sioux Falls wedding photographer for over 10 years but let me tell you: I fall in love with this city more and more every day.
THE CHALLENGE
The weather, of course. We were counting with rain. We were not counting with this much rain. However, I always wanted a couple brave enough to face a day like this and a team of vendors bold enough to do this… so I am very happy about how everything turned out!
