Winter Wonderland Wedding in Brookings, South Dakota
Picture this: Miranda calling me one day and saying “My wedding will be at the Swiftel Center in Brookings, South Dakota in February 2023 and I want a Winter Wonderland Wedding, would you be my photographer?” Guys… Can you guess what I said? A Winter Wonderland wedding for me to photograph with the most photogenic bride I have ever met. OF COURSE I SAID YES!!
The couple
The moment I met Miranda I understood why Kyle fell in love with her. I mean, it is so hard not falling in love with this girl’s smile! She is just the sweetest, nicest and most adorable person you will ever met! During our year working together towards their wedding, I was lucky enough to met with them several times and every time was a real treat. From their engagement session at Prarire Place in Brookings, until their wedding day, every interaction with this couple has been a dream!
The Weather
Now picture this: two days before the wedding, the entire state was in lock down because of a blizzard warning. I mean, talk about stress, right? Even with the stress of the weather I kept it together for one simple reason: Miranda wanted a Winter Wonderland Wedding and she was going to have it. And to make the day even better, the actual day of the wedding the sky was blue and the sun came out! Definitely meant to be!
The wedding
The couple got ready at the Comfort Suites University hotel with their bridal party. Their wedding and wedding reception happened at the Swiftel Event Center at Brookings, SD. We were lucky enough to be able to take photos around the McCrory Gardens area and the downtown Brookings are, right next to the SDSU campus.
It was an incredible day full of emotions and surprises, where the real protagonist was, without a doubt, the wonderful light and weather we were handled by mother nature.
