2019 wedding trends in the Midwest

2019 has been a very great year for weddings. It started slow but somehow ended up being one of my busiest years so far. With that, thanks to my couples I have been able to see the trends that are still alive in the Midwest in 2019. So read below and see what has been popular this year in around the SP weddings!

Fresh Flowers

I could not be happier about this. If you have seen my Insta account, you already know how much I love fresh flowers and this year 100% of my weddings had them. Forget about the trips to craft stores looking for plastic and pay a visit to the closest flower shop because fresh florals are here to stay!

Outdoor weddings

Every year more and more of my brides decide to roll the dice with our beloved Midwest weather and have an outdoor celebration. I’m all about that! In 2019 I was able to see some of the most amazing outdoor ceremonies and the light was just to die for! Are you having an outdoor wedding? I would LOVE to photograph it!

Grey tuxes

Grey is my color, I like it because it goes with absolutely everything and when my brides choose grey as they color of the suits I always get happy. Light or dark, grey looks great and elegant with any other accent color!

Blush

One of my brides told me this year that people are calling me the blush photographer because all my weddings seem to have some sort of pink involved. Fine with me!

Attention to detail

I try to do a good job talking my brides about their details. About what to get for me in order to photograph them. Most of them have done a very good job this year and I have enjoyed tremendously photographing them.

Calligraphy invitations

I guess this goes with the detail shots but the trend seems to be going away from the cookie cut invitation and paying more attention to custom calligraphy and organic papers.

Are you getting married in the Midwest in 2020? What are the trends that you think are coming?
