Jane Austen Bridal Session

Sometimes I get ideas. Lots of them. The problem is that they are not all doable all the time. The moment I saw Meadow Barn’s Wedding Chapel, I knew I wanted to turn it into Jane Austen’s England… or at least, whatever version of that world I have inside my head! I just needed the right person for it; so I put the shoot in that especial drawer in the back of my head until that person showed up in front of me to capture this amazing chapel the way I wanted to… Then Emily called me to photograph her wedding.

That was all I needed. The day I shot her engagement photos, I knew she was the person that would make this dreamy shoot a reality. I asked her, and she was kind enough to say yes (of course she was, she might be the kindest person I have ever met!). Then all that was left, was round the perfect team to bring this photoshoot to reality.

I called Katie from Meadow Barn, and again, with that kindness that make her who she is, she gave me the green light to bring my model to her property and take my photos. The team from Jane Rae Events and The bouquet Bar provided the gorgeous flowers (who else!? they are just the best in town!) and my girl Megan Bertsch jumped on to help out the moment she understood the concept during one of our talks. (Thanks Megan for always being up for a challenge!).

All that was left now was the dress. And I needed the perfect one. Simple, flowy, elegant. It had to have long sleeves that moved with the wind but it couldn’t be too boring or it would be easily confused with a regular white summer dress. I needed an expert on bridal dresses on the task… so I rang Kalli.

Kalli is the owner of Ellie Stone Bride. Even though they were in the middle of a store moving and planning an open house for their grand opening (August 21 ladies, put it in your calendars!!) she welcomed me with open arms and her team helped me find the absolute perfect dress for my shoot. I mean, look at it. It is EXACTLY what I had in mind. Not only we got to dig through their incredible collection, her team was super helpful finding something that fit Emily like a glove.

And just like that, we created magic.

As I said on social media, I am lucky enough to love what I do for a living. But it’s during moments like this that I considered myself truly blessed. Yesterday, I felt like a little girl on a playground. I could have taken photos forever. Thank you to everyone that is there every time I have a creative outburst. I can’t wait for the next one.
